SARLIYYA

   The Sarliyya, or Sarlis, are a small group of Kurdish Ahl-i Haqq (Kakais) living in northern Iraq in six villages close to where the Great Zab River meets the Tigris River and approximately 45 kilometers southeast of Mosul. Like the Yezidis, Shabaks, and Badjwan, the Sarliyya are very secretive about their religion. Therefore, some have accused them of scandalous rites and a sort of secret language of their own. Actually, the Sarliyya speak a Gurani dialect.
